02 · HOW TO MIX

Mixing a 10 mg vial with 2 mL of BAC water

Using a 1 mL (100-unit) insulin syringe, 2 full draws of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg/mL.

Add the water slowly
Wipe both rubber stoppers with an alcohol swab and let them dry. Draw 2 mL of bacteriostatic water and let it run slowly down the inside of the vial wall — not straight onto the powder.

Swirl gently
Swirl or roll the vial gently until the powder has dissolved. Give it a few minutes to settle if needed.

Don't shake it
Shaking can damage the peptide and cause foaming. Gentle swirling only.

Check it's fully clear
Only use it once it is fully clear with no particles. Label the vial with the date and 5 mg/mL, then store it in the fridge at 2–8 °C.

Storage

Before mixing: Keep the sealed lyophilised vial dry, protected from light, at 2–8 °C or at −20 °C for long-term storage.
After mixing: Keep upright, dark and refrigerated at 2–8 °C; Peak's guide states within about 4 weeks with bacteriostatic water.
Never: Do not freeze a mixed vial or repeatedly freeze and thaw it.

How it works

Epithalon, also called Epitalon, is the synthetic four-amino-acid peptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, abbreviated AEDG. It was developed from research into epithalamin, a bovine pineal-gland peptide preparation.

In cultured human fetal fibroblasts, Epithalon induced expression of the telomerase catalytic subunit, telomerase activity and telomere elongation. These are cell-culture findings, not proof of a health or longevity effect in people.

In senescent female rhesus monkeys, investigators reported increased evening melatonin synthesis and normalisation of cortisol rhythm. Animal findings do not establish a human outcome.

What the research shows

A 2003 cell-culture paper reported telomerase activation and telomere elongation after Epithalon was added to telomerase-negative human fetal fibroblasts; it was not a human dosing trial.
A 2025 cell-line study reported dose-dependent telomere-length extension in normal epithelial and fibroblast cells, while breast-cancer cell lines showed alternative lengthening of telomeres activity. This was laboratory work, not clinical evidence.
In a mouse experiment with 54 animals in each group, Epitalon did not change mean lifespan; it increased the lifespan of the last 10% of survivors by 13.3% and maximum lifespan by 12.3%. Animal findings cannot predict human benefit.
A 12-year randomised clinical study reported 28% fewer deaths with epithalamin, a pineal-gland peptide preparation rather than synthetic Epithalon. It does not establish the dose, benefits or safety of this product.
ClinicalTrials.gov lists one enrolling-by-invitation early phase 1 study with estimated enrolment of 48 that includes topical Epitalon peptide serum at about 1–3 mg/mL; no results are posted and it does not test this subcutaneous schedule.
The ARTG returned no matches for Epithalon or Epitalon. FDA's orphan-drug record lists an Epitalon designation dated 2010 as withdrawn or revoked and not FDA approved for the orphan indication.

Reported side effects

There is no completed clinical safety dataset for 5 mg subcutaneous Epithalon once daily; the current ClinicalTrials.gov record has no results posted.
A 2025 review concluded that critical short- and long-term toxicity information, including genotoxicity, carcinogenic potential and drug-interaction data, remains missing for Epitalon.
The review describes a historical retinal report in 162 people using 5 mcg per eye for 10 days with no reported side effects. That route and microgram amount are not comparable with this 5 mg subcutaneous reference schedule.

Important notes

Epithalon is not an approved medicine in Australia: ARTG searches for both Epithalon and Epitalon returned no matches.
For tested athletes, WADA's 2026 S0 class prohibits any pharmacological substance with no current approval by a governmental health authority. Epithalon is not named explicitly in the list, but its unapproved status means this category appears to apply.
The calculator uses the nominal 10 mg vial strength. Peak's posted LabDoc for one tested batch records 9.34 mg measured content, so check the current vial label and batch documentation rather than assuming every vial matches the nominal amount.
Human safety data do not establish the safety of this schedule, including its long-term effects or cancer-related risks.
Never use a mixed vial that is cloudy or has particles in it.

Injection basics

Use a new sterile 1 mL (100-unit) U-100 insulin syringe, 27–31G, every time — never reuse or share.
Wipe the vial stopper and the skin with an alcohol swab and let both dry first.
Inject under the skin (subcutaneously) of the abdomen, thigh or upper arm, and rotate sites.
Put used syringes straight into an approved sharps container — the NDSS lists Australian disposal options.
