There is no universal BAC-water rule
The compatible diluent and volume must be established by the specific product's validated instructions or lot-specific documentation. Vial strength alone cannot tell you whether bacteriostatic water, sterile water or another solvent is appropriate. Round-number examples make arithmetic simpler but are not preparation directions.
Illustrative concentration calculations, not mixing instructions
If a validated final volume were 2 mL, a 5 mg vial would mathematically yield 2.5 mg/mL and a 10 mg vial would yield 5 mg/mL. A 10 mg vial with a verified 3 mL final volume would yield about 3.33 mg/mL. These are mass ÷ volume examples only; they do not specify BAC water, compatibility, route or a recommended preparation.
Why Even Numbers Matter
For a verified 10 mg in 2 mL final solution, concentration is 5 mg/mL. One 0.01 mL marking on a U-100 scale then represents 0.05 mg (50 mcg) of that solution. Different verified volumes change the calculation, not the labelled total amount. Do not adjust a formulation merely to obtain a round-number marking.
Can You Add More or Less Water?
Only when supported by the formulation's validated instructions. A volume or pH change can affect solubility, stability, sterility, compatibility or device precision. It is not safe to assume that adding more or less water changes only concentration.
BPC-157 and other research-only compounds
A 5 mg or 10 mg BPC-157 label states the nominal amount in the vial; it does not establish a human dose or a universal 2 mL mixing instruction. Read the supplier's lot-specific documentation and the research reference for its evidence limitations. Research-only products must not be used as an approved medicine.
Storage after preparation
There is no universal 28-day shelf life for every peptide mixed with bacteriostatic water. Storage temperature, light protection, contamination controls and expiry depend on the exact compound, preservative, container and validated stability data. Follow the supplied directions; if appearance is unexpectedly cloudy, clumped or particulate, stop and seek qualified advice rather than attempting to rescue it.
